I had an unexpected Christmas present yesterday when a very short flash fiction piece of mine was published online.
The Drabble is a literary journal that specialises in micro fiction of 100 words or less. My story is called ‘Socks for Samuel’ and it was inspired by this year’s WWI commemorations.
It came about after a discussion with my writing group concerning minute details of the war – something they are endlessly knowledgeable about. Passing a yarn shop on my way home afterwards brought to mind how everyone waiting back at home tried to play their part also, even if that was just by doing a spot of knitting for the troops.
You can read it here if you have a minute (literally).
